Saying, "lull in the conversation!" or, "awkward silence!"

It isn't awkward until someone points it out, and why can't people be together without talking for a few moments?

YES! someone else feels the same way as me =P that just makes the situation 100x more awkward

The best thing to say to increase awkward silence is "So what do you want to talk about now?"

Apparently people have to be yammering to someone 24/7. As evidenced by driving, shopping, riding public transport, working out, standing in line anywhere, or eating, while talking on the phone. Are people so insecure they can't be quiet or be alone for 30 minutes?
