This and the opposite: Random people taking the liberty to rub your pregnant belly not taking one thought to maybe they are breaching the personal space laws that exist.

Also pregnant celebrities who pose with hand-over-belly and don't even get me started on celebrity husbands.

Or, maybe pregnant women in general. There was one on my train this morning....parting the poor shmoes who were standing up like the red sea as she got on....nodding sagely to the 3 people who all jumped up to give her their seats, and finally, spending the rest of the ride in contemplative silence, rubbing her belly and staring off into what i can only imagine was the reflection of her own, breathtaking glow in the window across the aisle.

I don't want to post a link-to-elsewhere here, but if you google the words "pregnant women are smug" in quotation marks, you will not be sorry.

Seriously?? I mean really? Are you seriously peeved about woman who are pregnant that rub their bellies? You'd rub yours too if it got so quickly stretched and tight, and a BABY kept jabbing your organs (all day long), dancing on your bladder, little feet under your ribcage - rubbing/soothing may be the only thing to quiet it down enough to be able to stay standing. Keep away from bloated bellies. Have a good day anyway.

I realized I was doing it when I was pregnant, and I gotta tell ya, it used to bother me, too ... but then I realized that I had nowhere else to put my hands! Sorry if it annoys you, but speaking from experience, it's primal. Instinctual. Don't know why ...

When you're used to being SKINNY, and all of a sudden you have this HUGE belly.... it's kind of hard to keep your hands away from it. Not to mention, I seem to hit my belly against things (since I'm not used to having it) and keeping my hands there, reminds me to pay attention to it.
